The Motorsport Ireland Karting Awards ceremony took place on Saturday October 31st 2015 at the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel in Cork.
At the ceremony the trophies for this year's Motorsport Ireland Karting Championship were presented, along with the championship trophies from the Irish Karting Club, The Southern Karting Club and The Munster Karting Club.
Alyx's final year in the cadet class was her most successful to date. With three race wins and a number of strong finishes in heats throughout the year. Alyx finished the main Motorsport Ireland Championship in fifth place and picked up what she called "a really cool trophy" and the biggest one in her career so far. She also picked up trophies for 7th place in the Irish Karting Club's Championship, along with an 11th place trophy in The Southern Karting Club's Championship.
Alyx moved up to the IAME X30 Junior class for the final round of the championship in Galway this year. It took a bit of time to get used to the extra power in the kart and extra grip, but over the course of the race weekend Alyx improved her lap times by almost three seconds to finish just two tenths of a second off the lap times of the race winner.
There is a bit of a gap now to next year's Motorsport Ireland Championship in March, but Alyx hopes to get to grips with the X30 kart by testing over the winter and also racing with Leinster and Tullyallen Karting Clubs.
